A Papuan university student is feared dead after a group of nonindigenous Papuans attacked the Nayak student dormitory in Abepura district, Jayapura, Papua in the early hours of Sunday. “It’s true, the students at the Nayak dormitory were attacked this morning,” said Yulianus Dabimabel, a Jayapura resident whose younger sibling stays in the dorm. A video making the rounds on social media shows a group of nonindigenous Papuans making their way toward the Nayak dormitory, accompanied by some police officers. In the video, the nonindigenous Papuans can be seen throwing rocks and firecrackers at the dormitory.
