A man spends years alone on a space station orbiting Earth after losing communication with Houston/Earth. Time is spent on maintenance, exercise, watching old messages and reading a journal by a soldier in the American civil war 1864.
Years following the events of Shining (1980), a now-adult Dan Torrance must protect a young girl with similar powers from a cult known as The True Knot, who prey on children with powers to remain immortal.
Inspired by real events in the life of French New Wave icon Jean Seberg. In the late 1960s, Hoover's FBI targeted her because of her political and romantic involvement with civil rights activist Hakim Jamal.
An unknown, massive earthquake happens in a drilling station in the bottom of the Marianna Trench. A scientific crew must find their way across the ocean floor into another station under the threats of deep pressure, dark water, dangerous deep-sea creatures, and a constant lack of oxygen.Written by

They wanted Stewart to be barefoot through that opening run -- "which Kristen was totally down to do" -- but concerns about cutting/hurting her feet led them to create footwear painted pink to complete the illusion. See more »

What's on one page of the script seems to have been instantly forgotten while being written. During the initial fleeing of the pressure breach, Rodrigo clearly states (@7:32): "We've got to seal the bulkhead." And again (@8:02) in a clumsy piece of exposition he says: "The whole rig is about to implode. If you don't shut these doors it'll take the whole station with us."
But a few minutes later, poor Rodrigo seems to be having amnesia, as says: "You saved the entire rig. I... I didn't even know to close the door.". See more »

Just before the ending credits begin a news appears on the screen about the two survivors of the accident and a date is written on top "Sunday, August 7, 2050" which means the film is set in the year 2050. later on as the news continues another date is also visible "August 12, 2050". See more »
As a fan of William Eubank's 2014 film "The Signal" I was pretty excited for this. The Signal offered a lot of thrills and suspense and a twist ending that leaves you gobsmacked.
Underwater did not quite live up to the same shock value. Less build-up or development to make much of it float anywhere above mediocre. The setting, scenery, and cinematography and music however is stunning.
This is the love child of Alien, Cloverfield, A Quiet Place, The Abyss, Soma, DeepStar Six, HP Lovecraft Etc. But doesn't carry as much weight.
