As you see, there aren't many professional female players in the Tekken community. But that doesn't mean there are none at all. In this blog, I will introduce these female players who made it to the King of Iron Fist Tournament 2015 & 2016.
First of all, we got Vanex from Italy. King player. Won second place in Europe qualifying round. She fought against Knee but lost against him. However, she managed to win one round against the legend. Winning one round against a legendary player is never easy because they have very sharp reaction. I'm impressed. She even fought against Yuyu from Osaka, Japan. I hope to see her again in the upcoming tournament.
Next, we have Silika, Alisa player from South Korea. Her Alisa is great. Won second place in the "Girls" qualifying round. Her Alisa can be outrageous like SHOW, Alisa player from Tokyo, Japan. Whatever it is, be careful if you're fighting against her someday.
Then, we have Makishi who won the "Girls" qualifying round in Tokyo. Her Xiaoyu is amazing. Patient and swift. She might turn you into a dust. So, watch out for her because she might be in this upcoming tournament.
Tanukana, Xiaoyu player from Osaka, Japan. Won second place in "Women" qualifying round last year. She fought against Knee and win one game against him. That's cool. Of course she lost to Knee since he won two games against her last year. But if I fought against Knee that time, I don't think I can win one game against him. Tanukana is dangerous, I've seen the way she fight. Tricky opponent. One of the best players from Osaka. She also mentioned in an interview that she's a Lili player as well.
Kobore, Alisa player from Tokyo, Japan. The way she fight is impressive. She attack from many angle. She could even launch an unexpected attack. Not a bad player at all for someone who won second place in the "Women" Tokyo qualifying round last year.
Hengbokhejoboruka or also known as Hengbok, Lars player from South Korea. She participated in both 2015 & 2016 King of Iron Fist Tournament. In 2015, she won first place for the qualifying round but for 2016 she won second place for "Women" Korea qualifying round. She even fought against Tanukana, Bancho and Take from Japan last year. Same league with Tanukana. She had straight losses for both King of Iron Fist Tournaments but what I like about her is her fighting spirit. She never knows how to give up. I hope she will join for this year's King of Iron Fist Tournament and make it to top 16.
Canis, Claudio player from South Korea. Won the "Women" qualifying round last year. She's Korea's number 1 female player if you don't believe me. Definitely a powerful opponent for a Claudio player. When she's in her block last year, I thought she would lose to Take, mad Bryan player from Tokyo, Japan but she wrecked him up. She even made it to top 16 in last year's tournament and beat up Princess Ling from USA but lost to "I'm so hot" from South Korea 2-1 in top 16. She lost to "I'm so hot" on the last match but the fact that she made it to top 16 is unbelievably awesome. She might be one of the first female player who made it to top 16. I hope I get to see her back in action for this year's King of Iron Fist Tournament.
Yamato, Claudio player from Tokyo, Japan. I've seen her fighting in Tekken Tag 2 in Japan Cup a few years ago. It seems that she improved a lot in Tekken 7. Won the "Women" qualifying round last year. I feel bad for her being in the same block with 3 strong male opponents who are better than her. Those 3 players are Knee, Mr Naps and Goraebob. She had straight losses like Hengbok too but she won an award for last year's tournament even though she didn't win any games during the showdown. I'm happy she won that award though.
Last but not least, Yuyu. Xiaoyu player from Osaka, Japan who won 3rd place and 1st place in "Women" qualifying round in 2015 & 2016 respectively. She fought against Knee in King of Iron Fist Tournament 2015 and won one game against him. In the end, Knee beat her up with no mercy. She wanted to get her revenge on Knee in King of Iron Fist Tournament 2016 but got blocked by RushCash from South Korea and Tsubumi from Osaka, Japan. To me, her Xiaoyu is more dangerous than Tanukana's. She may has those cute looks but remember, she's dangerous. I hope she gets her revenge on Knee one day. And also I want to see her participate again for this year's tournament.

hey, who know yuyu's realnam, tks
yuyu really great xiaoyu player
she is!
I'd love to see more female competitors be successful, not only in Tekken, but in eSports overall..
There's so much potential, you know!
This is an awesome post!
(But I'm confused as to why video game competitions are split by gender. They're not physically doing anything, like a sport.)
Since Tekken is dominated by lots of male players like many other games, female players will have like a 1% chance to win the qualifying open. After all, if Namco didn't make qualifying for women, the grand finals will just be a full of pro male players. And it adds more excitement to the tournament. It might be dull if this tournament is all male. Anyways, that female player Canis made it to top 16 and it was unbelievably great. I'm sure there are many great female players like her too in Tekken
There was this female Lili player and she knew plenty of her moveset but sad she didn't know any combos
She must be very good with doing mixups with Lili. I'm sure she will know how to do combos with Lili
