Ori No Naka No Soloist (Soloist In A Cage) is another endearing manga waiting to be read by readers. This manga is so cool when comes to its story, characters and most importantly, its art.
COMMENTS from Readers on Manga Plus- an Official reading website/app by Shueisha: from the comments on this manga's first chapter, readers adored it! Especially the art and story were most loved. It seems the emotions portrayed were able to reach the readers. A reader commented that they would 'read it again and again coz it is so beautiful' . Another tried to re-read the current chapters again and again before going
to bed. This shows how engaging this manga is and it would be good to give it a try.
Currently we are waiting for the author to recover from his illness. Readers were waiting for his return and hopes for the continuation. I wish him health and hope to recover from his illness.
The creator wrote a blog about coming back in early April. We will be waiting.
Here Is My Thoughts On The Manga So Far:
STORY- Unique! Prison City in the late 19th/early 20th Century? This is cool stuff. This might sound like 'Golden Kamuy' but it's quite not it. However I am not sure about the era or century that Soloist is set in. But it definitely looks like early 20th Century with some futurism ideas (that is the term used especially for those in the early 20th Century who tried to vision the future).
I was immediately captured by the story. The setting had 'Black Lagoon' vibes and I like it! The city, 'Roanapur' from Black Lagoon is a city infested with criminals, gangsters, mafia, etc and Prison City from Soloist In A Cage is very similar. Roanapur on one hand is the definition of the meme 'It's A Free Real Estate'. The police do not even care about their own jobs to care about your problems. Minor and Most Wanted criminals just come and go. Prison City on the other is not really a free place. Confined by the walls, monitored by the robots, if you try to escape you will be executed without hesitation and the people who inhabit Prison City are to also look out for.
What makes this manga even more interesting is the determination of a group of men who wants to escape. But the braveness of one girl to escape and return back to Prison City is something to respect and get shivers from.
ART- if someone says the Soloist's art sucks, then that person might have read the wrong manga. The art is the one of the best I have seen in manga. It is beautiful and gracious. Character designs are so cool. I love designs for the female character as a young adult/teen. So cool! The environment drawn tells Prison City is dangerous. 10/10 I love it.
CHARACTER- the female MC, Chloe is the coolest. I want to take her dance lessons but not murder anyone with it. She is sweet and kind but don't get on her bad side. She will kill you with grace and smoothness.
'The Demolition Man', Colonel Ross is also another favourite character of mine. He is known to be deadly and cool yet with a kind heart. His face wont show but his actions will.
Currently there isn't much on the MC's brother but I hope to see more about him.
I am starting to like little cute Sebastian, a stubborn kid but I wanna pat him.
ENJOYMENT- I really enjoyed it. I cannot wait to read more but now we have to patiently wait for early April to come. The author will back in full health I believe, the scheduling for the serialisation will be into place and get this manga to be continuing.
Many readers from Manga Plus enjoy reading the manga. I know I enjoy it and I hope you do too.
