SoundEdit
Butchered at Birth was the Cannibal Corpse album to establish their trademark, death metal style,[2] as many[who?] say that their first album, Eaten Back to Life, had more thrash elements to it.[3]Chris Barnes' vocals became noticeably lower, as this is the first time fans experienced his associated "inhuman" grunting.[citation needed] Barnes is often credited with the sound change, as the album's producer, label and where it was produced is the same as Eaten Back to Life.[citation needed]
