Following the release of the new Jokertrailer, we’ve grabbed sixty images from the trailer to get a better look at the upcoming drama. What really leaps out at you is how great this thing looks from a visual perspective. The cinematography from Lawrence Sher, who previously worked with director Todd Phillips on The Hangover trilogy and War Dogs is really impressive, and definitely evokes a gritty style without being overly dark or incomprehensible. The Joker’s world looks terrifying while still bearing a resemblance to our own.
The film also looks incredibly unnerving as Phillips is just embracing the madness with both hands. This is a far cry from your standard superhero film, and at least visually, audiences will be rewarded for that. I don’t know how the film as a whole will turn out, but judging from this trailer, I at least like the look of it and how it ties into what we know about the character.
Check out the sixty images from the Joker trailer below. The film opens October 4th and stars Joaquin Phoenix, Robert De Niro, Zazie Beetz, Bill Camp, Frances Conroy, Brett Cullen, Glenn Fleshler, Douglas Hodge, Marc Maron, Josh Pais, and Shea Whigham.
